London is served by a total of six airports. Heathrow is London's and Europe's largest airport and the world's busiest airport in terms of international passenger movement.

Enter "London flights" to find flights to London:

The six airports that service London are: London Heathrow (LHR), London Gatwick (LGW), London Stansted (STN), London Luton (LTN), London City Airport (LCY) and London Southend Airport (SEN).

London Heathrow is by far the biggest of the six airports. It is located to the west of London and has five terminals, with flight connections to most major airports world-wide. Flights landing at Heathrow are often delayed by up to an hour as a simple result of traffic congestions and waiting for parking slots. The fastest way to get to London city from Heathrow is by taking the Heathrow Express rail. It departs every 15 minutes and it takes 15 minutes to London Paddington Station.

London Gatwick is the second largest airport serving London. It has two terminals and is also serving a large spectrum of places world-wide. The Gatwick Express departs every 15 minutes and takes 35-40 minutes to London Victoria Station. London Gatwick Airport is located to the south of London.

London Stansted, located to the east of London, is London's third airport, and the base for a large number of budget carriers. The Stansted Express departs every 15 minutes and takes you to Liverpool Street Station in about 45-60 minutes. London Luton, to the north of London, has traditionally been a holiday charter airport, but is now also served by some budget scheduled flights. To get to London you first have to take a shuttle bus from the airport to Luton Airport Parkway station. From here you can take the train to London St Pancras station, it runs every 15 minutes and the journey takes 30-60 minutes.

London City Airport is a commuter airport close to the city's financial district, and specializing in short-haul business flights to other major European cities. You can get to the city center by Docklands Light Railway, by taxi which takes about 30 minutes, or by bus. London Southend Airport is currently undergoing redevelopment and is set to become Londons sixth international airport once the new rail link is completed. At present it serves destinations in the British Isles only.
